VISIT OF ENGLISH TEAM. WELLINGTON, Nov. 16
Tho New Zealand Rugby Union Management Committee met to-night. A letter from the English Rugby Union, in reply to an invitation by New Zealand for a team to visit the Dominion in 1930, stated that the request had been forwarded to the International Board with a strong recommendation for favourable consideration; and also a suggestion to include matches in New South Wales during the tour. The nett profit on the trial matches, including the North v. South match, was £1,730. AUCKLAND, Nov. 17. The Auckland Rugby Union decided to ask the New Zealand Union to convene a meeting of delegates as soon after November 30th as possible, for the purpose of appointing a manager of the South Auk an tour.
