(Australian it N.Z. Cable Association.) MANOILESCU’S ESCAPE. BUCHAREST, Nov. IG. A section of the Press interprets the acquittal of Mnnoilescu as a severe blow to the Government. It reported that diplomatic circles characterise the verdict as a cold douche for Dictator Bratianu. Professor Jorgu, Leader of the Peasant Party, declares those who instituted the prosecution have received their first punishment, which will he followed by many others. The Government issued a communique that martial law will he proclaimer if plots against the security of Hie State persist. It adds that the verdict has closed one incident, hut will not affect the determination of Cabinet to apply laws to those' who attempt to overthrow the Constitutional regime. A meeting of the National Peasant Party fixed fof- Bucharest on the 21st has been prohibited.
