EMBASSY MYSTERY.
PARTS. Sept. IS. A mysterious affair in which a young German worn!m named Edwige Seidel, a shorthand-writer at the German Embassy in Paris, is concerned is attracting the attention of the French police. A few days ago a gamekeeper saw a young woman struggling in a pond at Cove, in the Department of Oise. Ho dragged iher from tile water and took her to the hospital at Clermont. The woiuf.in. however, refused to disclose her identity until to-day, when she gave her name and address, but she declined to give any information regarding her trip to Cove. •Fraulcin Seidel’s friends declare that the young woman, who is highly educated 'and held a confidential post at tho Embassy, had appeared of late extremely downcast and nervous.
