Relore commencing his sermon at All Saints’ Church last evening, Bishop | \Vest-sVatosn referred to the pleasure it had given him to be again in " beautiful Westland.” During his short sojourn he had boon able to visit Kiunara. llariliari. and Hokitika, and though he enjoyed their wonderful scenery. had heard accounts of the pioneer days, and the decline of the gold fields, yet he had found a vein of gold in the hospitality and kindly fellowship of the people, while a finer gold still existed, and was manifest in the Hokitika parish shown by the way the Church people had co-operated with their vicar during a period ot stress. It was the right kindly spirit to show, and he urged the congregation individually and collectively to co-operate in bringing the young people to the Church, and not allow them to drift away. The liishop stated he would return again next winter and hold Confirmation in the parish, when he trusted to see even more candidates coming lorward than did on the last occasion, liishop 55’est--sYatson returned to Christchurch to-day.
