EVERYBODYS’ PICTURES

“SUB\YA V SA DIE,’’—FRIDAY

“Subway .Sadie,” a First National picture, directed by Alfred Santell and produced by Al Rockett of “Abi-almm Linden” fume is the attraction this .Friday at the Princess Theatre. Dorothy Maekaiii, .Jack .Mulhall and Charles .Murray tire the featured players. Others in the cast include Peony Shaw, Gaston Glass, Bernard Randall and .Jack Raymond! this is an excellent photoplay, built around the romance of a New York working girl and a subway guard. It is charming land delightful. Real intelligence has been put into this picture by both producer and director, and the result is a brilliant picture, filled with romance, sprightly comedy, a touch of pathos here ami there, a smart fashion show—dazzling night club scenes and other highly entertaining features. Dorothy .Mackaill is the girl. She falls in love witii a subway guard (.Jack Mulhall) and they decide to wed. But a lifelong ambition of Dororthv's is to lie realised when she is made a buyer for her store and sent to Paris. The wedding is called off. and the lieiirtbroken young man wonders what il is nil about. The wedding date is the sailing date for Dorothy. But she never sails. Her subway guard is injured, and she gives up her job i.: shay by him, marry him ami set lie down as the wife of a poor working man hut there is a. surprise which wo cannot tell about, and the picture ends happily. Miss Mackaill is perfectly adorable in this picture. Jack .Mulhall gives a wonderful performance. Charles Murray is a comedy taxi driver, and gives his quota of laughs. It is an excellent picture. The usual good supports including a good comedy and lurther chapters »1 “The Winking Idol" (serial) will also bo included in the programme.
