Some of the most thrilling scenes ever recorded by a camera were "shot” for the Regal picture “ The Girl ol Gold.” starring Florence Vidor, which comes to the Princess Theatre to-night. I hose scenes we re taken in a mine where an explosion occurs during the progress ol a society dance, given on the sixteenth level ol the mine. The sequence is truthfully executed in every detail. .Miners were employed and they used drills, dump cars and other paraphernalia. The rescue of the hero and heroine, imprisoned beneath the cave-iu, is said to he a mas-i terpieee of direction. Supporting .Miss Vidor in "The Girl of Gold ” are Malcolm McGregor, Alan Koscoe, Claire DuHre.v, Bessie Kyton, and Charles French. "The Girl of Gold” is from the novel by Cleveland Molfatt and Anna Chapin with the scenario by Kate Corbaley. It was directed by John luce. In this picture Miss Vidor appears, as a blonde lor ilie* first time in her long .screen career. Florence Vidor. lovely star of " The Girl of Gold.” now playing at the Princess Theatre, was horn in Houston, Texas. She met King Vidor, a young director, while he was visiting the city ill search of beauty for his next picture. They were married and came to I,os Angeles, determined to make a sueeess in the motion picture world. Miss Vidor played wherever opportunity presented itself.
