ASHBURTON, Nov. 4. Charged with soiling liquor in a nolicense area. James Orr Scott, with four previous convictions, was placed on probation for twelve months conditional that be docs not reside in or come into a no-license or native nolicense area without the probation officer’s permission, and that he takes out a prohibition order. SELLING LTQt'OE AFTER HOURS ASHBURTON, Nov. I. At the Police Court, Edward Doyle licensee of the Chertsey Hotel was lined £4 for selling liquor on a recent Saturday after closing time. Three men were found on the premises and were each fined £2. the Magistrate, Mi Orr-Walker saying that if he had had power he would fine them just as heavy as the licensee, because they were H cause of the breach.
