Stock Amendment Bjll and Tongariro National Park Amencftnent Bill were put through filial stages and passed. The Council adjourned at 8.15 p.ni. until •_ , .30 pan. to-day. THE HOUSE. RELIGIOUS EXERCISES BILL QUASHED. In the House, Coal Mines Bill was received from the Lands Committee, read a second time pro forma and referred to the Mines Committee. Air H. Holland (Christchurch North’i moved the second reading of the Religious Exercises in Schools Billl. Air Atmore moved as an amendment that the bill he read that day six months, in order to give the promoters an opportunity of considering the Nelson system as recommended by the Education Committee. After a lengthy debate Atr Atmore’s amendment was on division carried by 3G to 31, and the bill was ordered to be read that day six months. The -Mining Amendment Bill was then put through committo stage and passed. Seed Importation Bill was read a second time pro forma and referred to the Stock Committee.
