FOOTBALL.
(Australian A-. N.Z. Cable Association.) AVARATAUS’ FIRST LOSS. LONDON, Oct. 27. Oxford beat Waralahs by .‘s—o. LONDON, Oct. 27. New South Wales ran a risk by including only four of the team which drew with London. On the wnole, the Warntahs were disappointing particularly the backs who though handling very often failed to make much gromul.v even before Malcolm went off with a dislocated shoulder, just before Oxford scored. The team failed to produce their best, though at the finish they made a desperate effort to save the game. The forwards perhaps had been well advised not to heel so often as when they chose to use their feet they always looked dangerous. The only try was scored a quarter of an hour before the end by Marshall, Oxford’s right wing. Oxford put up a surprisingly good light, their tackling being immense.
