PARLIAMENTARY.
(By Telegraph—Per Press Association.) THE COUNCIL WELLINGTON, Oct 18. The Legislative Council met at 2.30 p.m. Air Speaker ruled that the Council had infringed the privileges of the House in the amendment it had made in the Land for Settlements Amendment Bill, and accordingly the Leader of the Council (Sir F. Belli moved that the Council do not insist on its amendment. This was carried. The Customs Amendment Bill was received from the House and read a first time, being set down for the second reading to-morrow. The Council adjourned at 3.5 p.m. THE HOUSE. Tn the House, after formal business Hon ATcT.eod moved the second reading of the Land Laws Amendment Bill which was agreed to. Hon Williams moved the second reading of the Afotor \ chicles Bill, which also was agreed to after a lengthy debate. The Orchard Tax Bill and Apiaries Bill were put through the committee stage, read a third time and passed. The House rose at 12.5 a.m. till 2.30 p.m.
