(Australian & N.Z. Cable Association.) PROVINCIAL GOLF. WELLINGTON, Oct. 19. Play in the Wellington Ladies’ Provincial Golf Championship commenced at Heretaunga yesterday, when two qualifying rounds for the provincial title were decided. The entries constitute a record and are from all parts of the Dominion. They total 117. The best scores in the qualifying rounds were obtained by Miss Payton (Rotorua) 86, 76. total 162, Mrs Guy Williams (Masterton) 82. 83. 165; Miss. S. Weston (Palmerston North) 83, 82, i 165. Others who qualified were Miss| 0. Kay (Dunedin), Mrs Similar Weston I (New Plymouth), Miss Seifert (Palmerston North) 167. -Miss Aelieson (Nelson). Miss V. Uphnm (Miramar) 168, .Miss Gould (Christchurch) 169, Airs Stout (AVeliington), Mrs Sclanders (Wellington) 171. Miss Rathbone (Auckland) 173, Airs Godb.v (Christchurch), Aliss Brandon (Wellington) 171, Airs Grace~C Wanganui), Aliss C.amhill (Wellington) 175. The teams match was based on the ..second qualifying round, the Auckland team, comprising Aliss Payton 76, Aliss Upton S 7, Aliss Rathbone 87, and Afiss Hamlin 90, with an aggregate of 340, winning.
