THE CHANNEL IIOAX. LONDON, Oc.t 10. A painful situation lias been created by Dr Logan’s lioax, which has hardly been paralleled. Hie press and public comment does not conceal hostility against the woman, whose standing was responsible lor an unquestioned acceptance of her story. Dr Logan was honoured by the British Af.edical Association, which tendered her a dinner, at which Lord Birkenhead led tho congratulations. The most outspoken view of the lioax is that expressed by Dr Cox, the Secretary of the Aledieal Association, who says: “How perfectly scandalous! It is disgraceful. Ido not know what the Association can do. It cannot ask for the return of the congratulations, which have been forwarded to her. The incident cannot affect Dr Logan’s medical status, but I cannot imagine that her word will ever be believed in future. Her retention of her present position rests with the heads of the hospitals with which she is associated.” The Swimming Association officials say that they did not believe “'Dr Logan’s story in the first place.
CHANNEL SWIMAIER. LONDON, Oct. 18. Aliss Gleitze announces she will attempt to repeat her Channel swim from Grisnez on Wednesday for her pers nal vindication. She declares the statement of her trainer that the water is too cold, will not deter her. The fact that she was once successful will be a tremendous help Officials of the swimming Federation and papernien will go with her.
