The death of William Adams, took place at the Old Peoples Home Westport on Sunday afternoon, after an illness of over two years. Deceased was horn in England and reached the ripe old age of 87 years, 6S years of which was spent in New Zealand. He was one of the early miners at No Town (Grey district) and for many years kept a boarding house in Greymouth. He took up residence in Westport about seven years ago and his wife predeceased him about six years ago. There was no family.

The death took place at Capo Foulwind on Saturday evening ol Air John Ahern, an old and highly esteemed resident at the age of 84 years. He was a native of Ireland and had been (jo years in New Zealand. He was one of the early pioneers of the Coast and one of the first men to work at Denniston. Deceased lived by himself and from what information is available. ho stumbled, through his failing eye-siglit, when going out of his door, and struck his head on the concrete step, sustaining a nasty wound. Death apparently occurred from shock and loss of blood. He was a married man and leaves a wife, two boys, two daughters, one son and one daughter being his wife’s by a former marriage. One daughter is married in Sydney and one in New Plymouth (Mrs Boyer). Mr P. Ahern lives in Westport and Air L. Nevlon, stepson, at Grnnity.
