(Australian & N.Z. Cable Association.) RAKOVSKY’S RECALL. LONDON Oct. 5. The “Daily Mail” Riga correspondent states that the Soviet has abandoned the hope of keeping M. R-akov-sky in Paris. The newspaper “Izvestia” says: “The Soviet has no ambassadors other than Communists. Therefore a change of persons will alter nothing.
SPY TRIALS IN RUSSIA. MOSCOW, Oct. 5.
The Ivamenetz-Podolsk Tribunal has tried fifty persons accused of espionage in Ukrainian territory on behalf of Poland. Five of them were sentenced to death, and the others to terms of from five to ten years’ imprisonment.
