N.Z. LADIES’ UNION. [llV TKLEGnAiqi—I'F.It chess association.] PALMERSTON N-, Oct, 4. The annual meeting of the N.Z. Ladies’ Golf Union decided to hold the next annual championship on the Ariddlemore Course. Auckland ; also that the four ball best hail bogey match played during the championship be changed into a medal foursome. A home links Coronation Alodal Match was fixed for the last weekin Alar.
It was resolved to cancel the Provincial teams match played during the championship tourney. Mrs limes, Manawntu, donated a cup to be known as the County Teams Cup, to be played for in place of the Provincial match. It was decided the limit of handicaps for entrance to the championship he reduced to ten in handicap matches, the limit will be twenty for medal, fifteen for bogey. Airs Afcll.sop, Rotorua, was re-elect-ed President, and Miss Payton, Rotorua. Secretary.
N.Z. LADIES’ TOURNEY. At the Dominion ladies’ golf championships, the best nett scores in the Donnelly Cup handicap match were returned by Mesdanics P. Sim and R. G. Guy (.Manawntu), who will play oil. There was also a tie between Misses Af. Richardson (Heretnungn) and B. Garsford (Marton) for the second trophy, for the host score in the opposite divisions (players with handicaps 1 to 12).
The Moll.sop Cup, for the host aggregate score in the three medal rounds, was won by Miss O. Kay (Dunedin), with Aliss A r . Uplift in (Wellington) second, and Aliss G. Seifert (Manawntu) third. The inter-provincial match was won by Auckland A team (Mrs Deighton, Misses Payton. Horton and Calling). A fresh course record was established by Aliss Kay, who went round in 75. The bogey is 79. Aliss Kay first broke the record last Friday, when she did the distance in 77.
N.Z. GOLF COUNCIL. WELLINGTON.. Oct. 4. The N.Z. Golf Council met to-day with a view to holding the next Dominion championships there, the Balmacewan Club (Dunedin) is to he asked whether they are prepared to make alterations to two holes as suggested in Air Redheads’ report. The professionals’ autumn tournament is to be held on Higlifield Links, Timaru in February. It-' was definitely decided that the Kirk-Windever matches are to he played on one of Wellington’s courses in the third week in January.
LADIES’ CHAMPIONSHIP. LONDON, Oct. 4. Airs Richardson defeated Aliss Shirley Tolhurst (Metropolitan, Australia) l' up, and Aliss Shirley Lamplough beat AKss Susie Tolhurst 2 up, in the second round of the English ladies’ golf championship, at Harrogate.
