PARLIAMENTARY.
(By Telegraph—Per Press Association.) THE COUNCIL. WELLINGTON, Sept. 30. The Legislative Council met at 2.30 p.m. The Land for Settlement Amendment Bill and Fungicides and Insectides Bills were received from the House and read a first time, and .second time pro forma and referred to standing com mi ttees.
Peel Forest Amendment Bill, Dangerous Drugs Bill and New Zealand Institute of Horticulture Bills, were also received from the House and read a first time.
The Council adjourned at 3.35 p.m until Wednesday next.
THE HOUSE. In the House the Minister of Labour gave notice of his intention to introduce the Apprentices Amendment Bill. The House then proceeded to discuss the Railway Statement, prior to considering the railway estimates. This debate continued until 12.15 a.in. when the report was adopted. The House then went into Committee of Supply to consider the railway estimates of £0,571,945. The vote was passed at 12.55 a.m. when the House rose until 7.30 p.m. on Monday.
