HOKITIKA GIRL GUIDES
The Hokitika Girl Guiding Association has been in force now about 18 months and lias proved very successful for the young ladies concerned. The force of Guides is about 80 strong and under the leadership of Mrs Perry and Miss "Potts these young Guides have gained much interesting and beneficial knowledge. So far no call has been made on the general public for funds to assist in the management and as the amount of voluntary subscriptions has been gradually reduced, the ladies’ committee has decided to hold a monster bazaar in the Soldiers’ Hall on ’Wednesday, November 2nd. Money is needed for the usual incidental ex jienses such as hall rents, advertising, badges, services stars, etc. Parents and all interested in Girl Guiding will have an opportunity of assisting this worthy cause on the day of the Fair, when many novelties, home cooking, vegetables, flowers, sweets, etc., will be for sale. A ’Xmas tree and bran tub will hold numerous articles for the young. Altogether a very pleasing Fair is anticipated.
