SAMOA COMMISSION

(Special to Press Association by Radio.) APIA, Sept. 26. Air Baxter, counsel for the Citizens’ Committee, addressed the Commission, outlining the matters to he dealt with by him. He said he would deal with the matters fairly fully ,and show the Commission that the Ainu movement was entirely law-abiding and constitutional. He next dealt with matters preceding the holding of European’s meeting in Apia, in which Samoan Natives took part, and step by step touched upon the affairs which led up to the banishment of certain natives. Air Baxter then traced various events which culminated in the acute political position, in Samoa, and subsequent events in the New Zealand Parliament and elsewhere.

Questions by Sir Clias. Skerrett and Mr AlcCormack elicited a statement that the citizens wished the Minister to investigate the complaints along the beach. Their purpose was not to put forward any general scheme for reform of the administration of these islands.

Air Slipper, also counsel for the Cit : - zens Association and Natives, followed, outlining the evidence to be given as to the prohitibtion and cancellation of trading licenses and banishment of Natives.
