WEST COASTER’S CRITICISM.

Strong criticism of the Education Department’s methods in regard to certain 'focal affairs was made by Air R. AVild (West Coast member) at the Education Board meeting, was followed by an attack on the central control policy. Mr AVild said that Boards bad accepted too long the absurd demands of tho Department and there was an utter lack of co-opcration. The great curse of the country was the multiplicity ol civil servants. The sooner we do something in the way of asserting our position the better. He said we should see if tlie regulations are legal and discover how much of the authority vested in us by tlie Legislation lias been cribbed illegally. A committee was set to consider tlie powers of the Hoards.
