FOOTBALL.
WESTLAND SUB-UNION. The Sub-Union met last evening at S o’clock, Mr F. McGregor presiding. The Inangaliua Union suggested Oct. Ist for tlie Dittman Shield match at Reelton.—Accepted. In connection with the Junior knockout competition it was resolved that Excelsior A play Rimu at Hokitika on Saturday September 24th, the winner to meet Kokatnhi at Hokitika on Saturadv, Oct. Ist. The winner is to hold the Breeze Shield. A letter was received from W.C.R.U. in reference to expenses of players, no action being taken. It was resolved to ask the W.C.R.U. for a rebate of £ll 10s, expenses met by Sub-Union on account of Westport team. Mr Kearns was appointed referee for Saturday’s Junior game, the W.C.R.U. to be asked to appoint a referee for the Dittman Shield game. G. G. AITKEN TO CAPTAIN LONDON TEAM. (Australian & N.Z.
