BOY SCOOTS
An appeal is made to all who wish well of this effort on behalf of our boys, to attend the annual meeting to be held in the County Chambers to- | night at eight o’clock. There is no membership fee. and all that is asked is your presence and interest to let the boys know that their work is being watched. The return visit of the Greymouth boys a week ago proved most enjoyable to all. The honors of the day again resulted slightly in favour of the local hoys, which hut stimulates all to further effort, as future exchange of visits is hoped for. The troop’s birthday is to come off in a few days which will afford further opportunity to see the boys at work and play. A. Sutherland completed his test for Cook’s Badge on Saturday by preparing a flap-jack and bread-twist over the camp fire, and half a dozen others are waiting a favourable opportunitv for a try-out in boxing and wrestling. The Wednesday night singing practice is in full swing and making good progress.
