The Xew Zealanders began another match at Allandndtio to-day, hut owing to rain a start could not be made till 2 o’clock. The Cygnets side contained a numIver of those who had played in previous matches for Wales. Although the wicket was sticky from the operaiion of the sun on tho turf after the rain, the local men decided to bat. the rones, off Lowry. 13e was then brilliantly stamped. When. Walters joined Roches a capital stand was made. The former got his fifty in an hour and a half, out of 90, and at 61 was dismissed by a magnificent one handed catch by Lowry.
At the tea adjournment the total was 3 for 104 and oil resuming two wickets fell cheaply, hut-Turnbull then made another stand with "W alters, both playing a defensive game.
