INCOME TAX REVENUE. WELLINGTON, Sept. 6. The Minister of Finance says that if the Income Tax for this year is based upon the same figure as last year, the extra amount which the Government will collect should be from £150,000 to £175.000. Mr Downie Stewart stated in the House that the amount of extra revenue would depend upon how the Income Tax came into the coffers of the Treasury. The amount collected last year was about £3,460,000, and if the same amount were to he collected this year, the amending taxing bill would increase the revenue by about 5 per cent, or a little more.
