The Dominion ladies hockey tour, ney continued this morning under wretched conditions, rain falling incessantly on a ground already sodden by an overnight downpour. Section A was won outright by Ruahine A who decisively defeated Manawnt.i 15, thus entering the semi-fuml. Southland won Section B by defeating Bush Union B by fourteen goals to nil.

HOCKEY TEAM RETURNS. AUCKLAND, Sept. 6. The New Zealand hockey team returned by the Ulimaroa to-dav. Spending at a public reception, Mr Kent, for the New Zealand Hockey Association welcomed the team and congratulated them on their successful tour of Australia. The team agree they had a right royal time there. Williamson (Manager) says there is a. great improvement in the Now South "V\ ales team siwpa number of them were here last winter. The test match against Australia at Brisbane was a good hard game in which both were rather too eager to be ablo to give a good exhibition. Unfortunately, shortly after, the start of the second spell, Cole playing at right half, received a knock on the knee which partly disabled him. although it did not cause him to leave the field. The team play Auckland at Remuera this nfternoon.
