The task of achievin'; disaimament can only be accomplished by stages, some of which have already passed, and the League has not failed, declared M. Villegos (Chile) presiding at the opening of the League Assembly when he expressed the opinion that the problem could he solved on lines of recent conference. He dwelt on the League’s growing universality and its high prestige which invested the Council with the authority necessary to bring pence and order into political life.
TVI. Gunnie (Uruguay) was re-elected President of the Assembly. Canada’s delegate, Dandurad, was instructed to propose Canada’s candidature Hr a non-permanent seat on the Council, on which there are three vacancies.
