CHINESE TROUBLE.
(Australian & N.Z. Cable Association. CHOLERA IN CHINA. SHANGHAI, Sept. 2. Although Sun Chuanfang’s antiSouthern campaign has apparently ended in a- dismal failure leaving the Southerners in possession of Nanking. Shanghai and all territory south of A’angtsze, a new enemy has appeared in the ranks of the Southern army, cholera spreading rapidly and taking a huge toll. Hundreds of bodies are thrown into the river daily, as it is impossible to bury them. There is a scarcity of medical aid, hut all possible precautions are being taken lieie against the introduction of the discase Sunehuanfang’s forces are retreating towards Chuchow between Pukew and Pengpu. Lack of support from Changtsolin is responsible for his collapse. _____
