Commenting on the pilferage report from Lloyd’s list, the “Times” says the natural conclusion from the figures given is that most of tho pilferage is still as when the Royal Commission reported in 1921, carried out when the cargo is slicing loaded or shipped in Australian ports. 1c- is deplorable that six years after the issue of so vigorous a report, the evil is still rampant. The paper hopes the facts now published will stimulate all interests concerned in transport at Australian ports to unite in removing this blot on the reputation of some of the world’s finest harbours.
