HOCKEY.
(By Telegraph—Per Press Association. BRISBANE. Aug. 24. The New Zealand hockey team played a second Queensland team at the Exhibition this afternoon. The New Zealanders gained an easy victory by 11 goals to 0. The Queenslanders were lacking experience and combination, and wore unable to hold the New Zealanders.
The match was in the nature of a try-out. the visitors fielding mostly their reserves. The game was without special incident, although the New Zealanders pleased the onlookers by their excellent combination and knowledge of ah' branches of the game. The halftime scores were I to 0; and seven more goals were amassed in the second
if. Socombe and Watts each scored three goals, Bell and Worsfold each two, and Eason one. The play of the local men can only be described as scrappy.
The New Zealanders have now played twelve matches in Australia amt have scored one hundred and three goals, compared with ton^ goals against them.
