Championship Featherweight title took place to-night, when Duke Maddox, Hastings, holder failed to make the weight by two pounds the title automatically going to .Johnnie Lec-kie, Dunedin, challenger. The fight lasted only one round and and a half. Maddox was knocked down three times in the second round, his seconds then intervening. A preliminary ten round professional featherweight lxmt between Matt Hutton Auckland and P. Black, Wellington, was won by Hatton in the fifth round, Black’s seconds throwing in the towel.
