BRISBANE. Aug. 22. The. New Zealanders hockey team donated a strong Victorian combination >,t iho Hockey Carnival at the Exliiliiion this morning, by eight goals o nil.
The New Zealanders played a bard game throughout. Penalties were awarded against them, from which, however, their opponents failed to score.
In the second spell, as on Saturday, iho visitors settled down to steady combination, and towards the end of the' game the Victorians were visibly tired, although thev tried valiantly to stop a rout.
Jleil was a. prolific scorer for New Zealand. Rough play was frequent. The visitors played a splendid attacking game, Cole feeding the forwards admirably. From the outset the New Zealanders pressed strongly piny immediately going to the A ictorians’ end. At half time the New Zealanders wore leading by two to nil. Of the total of eight goals. Bell scored lour, and Sec-combe, who also played a fine game, scored two. while Spiers scored one and A) atts one. Although he had comparatively an easy time, Fletcher in goal showed he is an excellent custodian.
