BY TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSN., COPYRIGHT. the house. WELLINGTON. An;:. 17. The House met at 2.30. Hon. Nosworthy read correspondence from Samoa dealing with complaints made hy Mr H. E. Holland that letters from Apia addressed to him had been tampered with. The Minister said, investigation hy the Departmental officials showed any apparent interference with the letters was only the result of the use of inferior envelopes or carelessness in sealing them. The debate on the Budget was continued by .Messrs J. It. Hamilton, Jordan. Rhodes (Thames), R. W. Smith. Hon. Williams. Messrs Howard and Burnett.
The adjournment was moved by Mr Bartram. The House rose at 11.25 till 2.30
