Auckland (holder) gave a taste of cTfiimpionship billiards, ntlhough not at his 'est form, when he met P. Devine, of Peione, a fair all-round player, hut not in Roberts's class. 'Pise Aucklander gave a pretty display of top of the table play, in a break of 9S, and turned on the red iit 72. and gained steadily all the way through to win. The scores were: Roberts COO.
