Internal Affairs and the Waikato Hunt, Club concerning racing oil Labour Day i.s that if the Waikato Hunt Club were to hold the meeting, everybody taking part' in it would he liable to disqualification miller the Rules of Racing. It is stated that the Minister lias in his possession a document signed by a majority of the House ol Representatives who are opposed to the attitude of file Racing Conference. At' least 12 members have signed it. Competent lobbyists predict that il Sir George Hunter’s Gaming Bill now comes before the House, members may carry an amendment reducing the number of permits in flic main .rent res. 11 is suggested that as a wav out ol the difficulty a compromise may be arrived at.
