There was a hank holiday crowd at Cardiff to see the resumption of the game with New Zealand, and they witnessed some fluctuating cricket. Ho took five wickets for tilt additional 23 runs anil James was run out. Dempster alone could do anything with hint and remained unbeaten to tlie end, carrying his bat for IG7. He gave one chance in the slips tit 135. but apart from this his innings was a magnificent display of batting. It lasted 4.V hours and he had one six and fourteen fours in his total. When the County went in Bates and D. Davies hit so freely that the first wicket put on 73. The next two men ttlso started well and then a collapse similar to the New Zealanders occurred. This was caused by Bernau, who relieved Aterritt.
