Longbeach Hurdles Handicap:—Bonemt 1, Poncas 2, Kapuna 3. Also started: —-Coastguard. Dubious. Tokawa. Rangi Tahi, Captain. Sarto. Won hv a neck. Time 3.2.
Hornby Steeplechase: —Maunga 1, Peter Maxwell 2, Charlatan 3. Also started:—Pamplona. Frenchman. Vice Grand. Kipling, Isla Bank. Jovial, Ploughhoy. Won hy a length. Time 3.52. Mc'Sevoney, rider of Maunga. who had been injured earlier in the day. received on ovation from the crowd, on returning to scale. He rode the race with a bandaged wound in his leg and left the course immediately afterwards for the hospital to have the wound stitched.
