Official circles deny that the British Ambassador to America, Sir Esmc Howard, has been instructed to protest against anti-British misrepresentation in America. The officials .state that the merits of the British case at Geneva are gradually emerging from a fog and confusion in which the United press had originally placed them.

Vice-Admiral Field is ill, and has been compelled to return to London from Geneva. Rear-Admiral Pound replaces him.
