RADIUM BATHS.
PRAGUE. May 30. The purest radium in the world is produced at Jachvmov, or Joachimstal. in the ‘highlands of Bohemia, where the half-yearly conference of the Little Entont (Cxeclio-Slovnkia, Rumania, Jugo-Slavia) has just been held. The output is about two grammes of radium annually, extracted by costly and huburioua processes from some twenty tons of pitchblende taken .from the vicinity of the ancient silver mines. During the conference it is understood that the three Foreign Ministers-. AIM. Benesh, Alitiliniu, and Alnrinkovitch, were fortified by radium baths taken in the basement of the great State-owned Radium Palace Hotel. Radium bath-water is cold, and warm normal water is mixed with it. The bather lies quite still in the hath for twenty minutes, wraps himself in a rough blanket, and lies for another twenty minutes on a couth. Then lie dresses slowly. After three or four of those baths, taken preferably at 7 a.m.. you are said to he ready to eat a small lion each morning for breakfast.
