BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSN., COPYRIGHT. DUNEDIN. July 26. A professional boxing contest between Johnny Leckie, of Dunedin, (8.13-1) and Mark CarroYl, of Wanganui (9.41) took place to-night. The fight was scheduled for To rounds, for a purse of £IOO, but in the eleventh round, in which Carroll was down three times, rising at the count of nine each time, the ret ere slopped the contest, thirty seconds before the end of the round. Leckie had the better of matters in practically every round, quite out boxing his opponent , who tried without success to make it an in-light.

McLean. Heavyweight, F. McCarthy (holder) beat D. Cowan. In winning the lightweight title, T. Slattery (Te Kuiti) gave a brilliant of hosing.
