ROBBERY CHARGE.

CHRISTCHURCH, July 26. Bail was refused by the Magistrate to-day when Thomas Reid was committed to the Supreme Court on a charge of robbing James Joseph O’Malley of 7s Gd, and using personal violence. Reid pleaded not guilty. LOOP LINE CONSTRUCTED. OTAKI. July 25. A gang of forty men last evening put in a loop line, thus allowing all passenger trains to pass the wrecked Auckland Express. An attempt is being made to-dnv to get the derailed engine and carriages back on the line.
