KING FERDINAND’S FUNERAL (Received this day at 11.26 n.m.) BUCHAREST, July 24.

Three Archbishops, twelve Bishops and n hundred priests took part in King Ferdinand's funeral service, the family .kneeling about the coffin. Twelve Generals bore the eofliii to a gun carriage, to which were harnessed six black horses ridden by artillery captains. Meanwhile guns opened a saute of one hundred and one guns, and four hundred churches commenced tolling bells, as the procession started in the torrid heat of the pitiless sun.

Before the coffin two of the oldest Generals bore the Royal Crown and Sceptre. Thirty Generals walked beside the gun carriage and behind paced Ferdinand's favourite charger draped in black. The cortege took two hours to pass a given [joint. It included members of the Cabinet, high dignitaries of the church and State, thousands of troops and deputations from the provinces arrayed in national costumes. Hundreds of thousands of people lined the six miles ol the route front the Palace to the railway station. Pavements, windows, and trees were thronged. The larger buildings were hung with crepe and clouds of incense rose at every street corner and church. Many military bands along the route played the National Anthem. The Generals carried the coffin to a special train which the lloyal party travellcder to the place of interment, Cnrtea De Arges, one of the ancient capitals of Walachia. hour trains wore employed to carry the official mourners. PARIS. July 24. prince Carol attended a service at the Roumanian Church dressed in black wearing all his decorations. Many youthful Roumanians cried “Long live tlio King,” when he emerged.
