BODY LIES IN STATE. BUCHAREST, July 22
The body of King Ferdinand lies in state, tlie catafalque covered with red flowers and pine branches which tlie Queen arranged, as a last act of homage. The King’s Crown and decorations are placed on a table nearby. Four Chevaliers of the Order of Michel the Brave, guard the chamber. Huge crowds from all parts of the country are waiting on the boulevards leading to the palace for their turn to view the body.

CAROL’S ATTITUDE. PARIS, July 23. Carol lias broken the silence, and told Queen Marie he would not do anything to disturb the peace during his father’s funeral. He telegraphed his sister, the Queen of Jugo-Slavia. to put a wreath of white flowers on his liehalf. on his father’s coffin, in order to give the. lie to evil gossip, and prove that he had always loved and respected' his father.
