SYDNEY, July 21. At the Stadium Reg. Trowern (10.1) decisively outpointed Billy Cham hers (9.13) in a. fifteen rounds’ Jxnit. Tlie Xew Zealander dealt out heavy body punishment and several well-pi'aced leits to the head in the seventh round and rattled the Australian, almost flooring him. Excessive clinching marred tlio contest, Chambers being the worst offender. Trowern tired over the last four terms hut Chambers was unable to avail himself of the opportunity to attempt to even matters and the Xew Zealander finished well ahead on points. TO-DAY’S FIGHT. XEW YORK, July 19. .Tack Dempsey and Jack Sharkey I have completed the final day of their ! training for their bout on TJiursday. j There are reports that Dempsey in- ' ju red an arm. These reports are | branded as false. Dempsey boxed four rounds and punched the heavy bag to-day and he also shadow Jinxed. The critics are far from unanimous regarding Dempsey’s condition. Some observers declare that he is the old Dempsey, while some others declare that lie is an empty shell. Dempsey expressed his confidence of being able to dispose of Sharkey in a few rounds. ■Sharkey to-day boxed three rounds, and ho also went through similar activities with hag and shadow sparring. The odds are thirteen to ten in favour of Sharkey.

At Los Angeles, Billy Grime defeated Stewart AlcLean, the AliinicaopoHs veteran feather-weight, in Ten rounds, thus increasing his reputation considerably. and gaining liis third victory in America. After dropping McLean in the first round he went on feinting Ah'Lean into leads that spelt disaster. His style of milling was without parallel in the American ring and won repeated applause. Tn the eighth ArcLean had difficulty in locating his corner when the gong went. Thenceforth all he could do was last tlio distance.
