Thomas tendered good wishes to Hon Amcry on his tour. Mr Thomas recalled his own experience on returning from a similar tour, to find himself out of office. He confessed that he hoped Mr Amery would have the same fate. He complained that t the House had no opportunity to discuss the decision of the Imperial Conference, of which it knew no more than, the man in the street. lie congratulated Mr Amery on the most successful innovation of the Colonial Conference, though it would he the , gravest mistake to go outside matters of administration and enter the sphere of politics. It would he a tragedy if political changes meant changes of Governments. The vote was adopted. Tn the Lords. Viscount Cage announced the Government will continue the Rent Restrictions Act.
