From .Murine Department asking for names of menihers. Received and supplied. From Harbours Association, icyai opinion on rights ol menrlie-rs to inspect minutes or reports.— Received.
Erom Wilson Spencer terminating rent e.f engine.—Received ; necessary steps to lie taken to ensure payment. From Levis and Wells applying for lease of nor Mon of vliarf and quay.— Received. The Chairman stated lie had been notified the intention was to erect a coal store. It was resolved that tlie Chairman lie empowered i lease the area indicat 'd IT £ls m year payable in advance on brim: sri lied as to the design and runtnicti ;■ of the structure to he erected. Various formal letters and circuia-s were also received.
The Signalman reported the channel was running northerly, close to the north waii. carrying Flit i I water. The Chairman moved : That the special rate annually reclining made on 25th May. 1911, for the year. Ist O-toher. 1920. to 30th September. 1027. of twopence in the pound on the unimproved value in ilie Borough and threeeighths of one penny in the pound capital value of Hie remaining portion of the harbour district be struck and levied. Seconded by Mr Bruce and earned. Accounts amounting to £SO 2s f)d were passed for payment. It was noted that two lessees were in arrears and the Secretary was instructed to Lake necessary legal action. \ discussion took place over the Signalman’s duties. The Chairman explained that the Signalman had to keep tlie channel under observation, to keep the beacons in order, put up lights on north and south walls much more frequently than when boats entered or left and also provide his own boat. The Secretary was directed to "rite a. letter indicating what services are expected from the Signalman. The meeting then terminated.
