MEW ZEALAND TEAM AT HOME. EAST OF ENGLAND. X.Z WIN BY 8 WICKETS. (Australian & N.Z. Cable Association.) LONDON, July 11. The match against East of England was resumed in brilliant weather, before an attendance of about a thousand. The New’ Zealanders who had made a had start were indebted to Daere for putting them in a good po.siti ui. With Page lie put on 101 for the sixth wicket, batting in liis most attractive style. He was. however, missed before he was caught at long on. The total was then 183 and the Aucklander’s share was S 9. in which were included two sixers and twelve fours. After he left Allcotl and .James had a good partnership, which helped the total along. 'The latter made some powerful drives, six of his strokes reaching the boundary. East of Enjaiul on going ill again gave a feeble display against McGill’ who rattled down 3 wickets in 8 overs. Half the side were out for 39 and only a stand by Grumsdell and Burton in the last stages of the innings saved them from a complete collapse. These two added 47 for the Bth. wicket and averted a one inning's defeat.

l.owry changed his howling continually and though the innings was so short, called on eight men. to take a hand with the hall, ami five of them were successful.

With 73 to get. the visitors found no difficulty, the necessary runs being knocked off in 30 minutes. Dempster and James scoring 31 in a quarter of an hour.
