THE INQUEST. (Received this day at. 10.13 a.m.) LONDON. July 12. The police have arrested nine youths on suspicion in collection with O’Higgins’ murder. At the inquest Hun. McNeill gave evidence that the murderers were not masked. A verdict of murder was returned against three unknown persons, the jury adding a rider that it was a cruel outrage, and expressing ilie hope that the murderers wom'd soon no hrough't to justice. The Coroner. Dr Brennan, said it was a horrible tragedy, and a sad com. mentary on the mentality of the inhabitants ol the Island of Saints ana Scholars.
Do Valera, interviewed, said: “The assassination of O'Higgins is a murder inexcusable from any standpoint. T am confident no Republican organisation would give any countenance to n crime that cuts at the root of all responsible government.”
