CASEY WINS. (Australian & N.Z. Cable Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, July 10. Harry Casev ( Wellington) the'New Zealand middle-weight boxing champion, defeated J. Heeiiev. ex-middle-weight champion oi New Zealand, on [mints in a 15-round professional bout at New Plymouth last night. The men were evenly matched, but Casey was the more aggressive and the more enterprising, and nearly ai'l through the bout lie bold a slight advantage. There was a considerable amount o.f in-figliting of a ( lever nature, but never once did the men appear to lie wholly extended. In the last two rounds Heeney seemed to be gripped by indecision, and lie appeared wholly unable to recover the ground be lost in the earlier rounds.

There were a number of amateu bouts, the results being:—•

X. Rohuck (Taranaki fly-weight champion) defeated Gray (Manawatu champion). T. Donovan (Tarankai feather-weight champion) defeated M . Gray I Manawatu light-weight champion). W. Stevens (Taranaki middle-weight champion) knocked out B. Meads Wanganui).

A CSTR ALT AX ROUTS. SYDNEY. July in. At the Stadium. Merv. Williams defeated Mike O’Connor on points in a lb-round contest. O’Connor, though he was badly punished, made a plucky showing. At Xowcastle Jack Roberts knocked out George Stare in the tenth round of a contest for the State light-weight championship.
