The estimate of receipts and expenditure for the year as drawn up and approved !>v the Finance Committee were agreed to on the motion of T)r Teiehelmann and the Mayor. Accounts amounting to L‘s2l 2s 7el were passed for payment. FOREM AX’S REl’fL. i. 1 beg to report the following work wa.s carried out (lining the month. Livingstone St. drain wa.s cleared and hanked up where the flood waters overflow to Mr Onlinri's property in Stafford St. Weld St. drain at Mr XV Wilson’s, between Sale and Rollcston Sts., nils cleaned out, a portion of the Xortli licit drain leading on to the beach was cleaned out. The water tables on Xorlh Revel! St. were also ( leaned out.

The footpath in front of the Bank ol Xew Zealand residence was gravelled and also a portion in Boa ley St. A crossing was also put. in at this place. A sect ion ol lootpath in f* itzhorbert St. between Park and Tudor Sts. was

gravelled, the footpath leading to oßison's Quay on the soulli end of Fitzherhert St. alongside the railway was cleared and gravelled and six fourinch earthen ware pipes put in to take off the surface water. The side lootpath leading into Air J. Burns’ property in Rollcston St. was gravelled.

Park St. was raised nine inches lor a distance of about lour chains, the culvert removed from the corner of Park and Bealey Sts. and 36ft of oneloot concrete pipes put in its place. AA'ehl St. was cleared of growth between Tntiered and Fitzlierhert Sts.

A new six-inch pipe was put in the water main near McKay s creek on tlie Lake road. A water connection was put in at Airs Appleton’s in Livingstone St. while three service connections were repaired. Eight 2ft. jin. concrete pipes were made this mouth.

The water in the Reservoir averaged seven feet for the month.

ORDER PAPER. Air Evans moved that the resolution adopted on June Bth, reducing the retaining fee to the Borough Solicitor from C2O to CIO per annum, be rescinded. Seconded hv the Mayor and carried. The Council rose at 8.-15 p.m.
