CHRISTCHURCH. July 7. There- were fairly large entries <J fat sheep and fat cattle at the metropolitan weekly market at Addington yesterday. but in each case, prices generally were better limn last week. Tho sale of fat sheep was irregular, bill, mi an average prices were better than those ruling last week by 1* to 2s a head. Well finished fat, cattle improved l«y 25s a head. There was only a small yarding of fat lambs. They met with a particularly keen demand and the prices obtained were the lest ol tlie season. CompiTilim for store sheep was satisfactory, most lots selling with more freedom than at recent sales. Store cattle sold at about late rates, but there was an easing in the price for dairy cattle. Vealers were in very short supply, the yarding being Lire smallest for a long time. As a result. prices advanced sharply on late rates. The market for fat [figs was not very bright, but all classes of store pigs met with spirited competition.
