LONDON', .lune -<>. I'tlra-violet rays are extensively used in the brewing of dicer, it was declared at the Pharmaceutical Conlerence at Brighton yesterday. It was found that by the use ot these rays the time of fermentation was reduced by one-quarter. The quality of the beer was better and it kept l inger. |)r Parry, in discussing the rays, said : ‘’l believe the tiovernment should abolish the smoke nuisance, which cuts of? these valuable rays. •Tims rickets would he aloli-hod. tuberculosis diminished, and the general standard of health improved." He added that ultra-violet rays were no cure for senile demy or baldness.
